Arvind Sah is a tech-enabled #ChangeMaker, entrepreneur, and social activist from Bara-2, Mahagadhimai – 7 (Telkuwa), Madhesh, Nepal. He co-founded Janaki Technology, introducing innovations like Sparrow SMS and Khalti Digital Wallet that have empowered millions of users and businesses. Through initiatives such as KISAN Agro, he has supported farmers with technology and agribusiness opportunities, while creating over 500 direct jobs and impacting thousands more indirectly. Recognized with national awards for his contributions in ICT and renewable energy, Arvind is pursuing an MPhil leading to PhD in Rural Development, focusing on AI-driven job creation and digital governance. Rooted in his rural village of Bara yet globally connected, he continues to drive inclusive growth and social transformation.

Childhood & Family
Arvind Sah, born in 1984, spent his childhood in the rural village of Telkuwa, Bara District. Growing up, he enjoyed working in the family’s agricultural fields, playing with goats and buffaloes, and swimming in rivers, canals, and ponds. His parents were both primary school teachers, instilling in him the value of education. His elder brother became a civil engineer, while his younger brother pursued medicine. Today, Arvind’s wife runs a business in Kathmandu, and their two daughters study at St. Mary’s School.
Education & Awards
Arvind Sah, son of devoted primary teachers, is grateful to his parents for nurturing his education. After completing primary schooling in his village, he earned a scholarship to study Computer Engineering at IOE, Pulchowk Campus. Currently pursuing MPhil/PhD in Rural Development, he is likely the only PhD-level scholar in his constituency, honored nationally and internationally with awards like Youth Entrepreneurship, Suprabidh, and Madhesh Digital Icon.
Entrepreneurship
Arvind Sah began his entrepreneurial journey in 2007 during his third year of Computer Engineering with Janaki Technology, widely known for Sparrow SMS, expanding access to information nationwide. He co-founded Khalti, a leading digital wallet driving financial access in Nepal. As a social entrepreneur, he also founded KISAN Agro, promoting agribusiness and empowering rural communities through agro-entrepreneurship support.
Oneness
Arvind Sah, a youth from a rural village, believes deeply in self-motivation, trust, and devotion to society. Known for his “Jugadu” working style, he avoids dependency, starting and managing tasks smartly within timeframes. He inspires youths to build their own identity, raises awareness for unity and collective living, and encourages society to shift perspectives—not just seeing problems but creating solutions. A self-built force, he embodies resilience, innovation, and transformative leadership.
Social Activist
As an IT entrepreneur, Arvind Sah serves Nepalese with access to information through Sparrow SMS and financial inclusion via Khalti. In rural Madhesh, he promotes agribusiness to empower farmers with improved practices. Beyond business, he leads social campaigns like #SpeakUp and #Janjagaran to foster awareness, unity, and empowerment. Dedicated to education, health, and employment, he works tirelessly for a better life, striving to uplift rural communities socially and economically across Nepal.

Arvind Sah believes true positive impact can be achieved through political power, following 22 years of innovative & renowned work. Transitioning into politics, he envisions social & economic empowerment rooted in education & rural transformation. With a Master’s in Rural Development & currently pursuing MPhil leading to PhD, he integrates IT into rural economic growth. His political agenda emphasizes harmony, happiness, & a society free from financial burdens, empowering people with dignity & opportunities.
